Fun Dice Games That Are Easy to Play

Dice games have a special charm. They’re quick to learn, easy to set up, and perfect for all ages, whether you’re playing at a party, family gathering, or just looking for a way to pass the time. Here are some of the most fun and easy-to-learn dice games.

7-11 Dice Game

The 7-11 dice game is a fast-paced party game that’s easy to play and guaranteed to get everyone laughing. It’s typically played with two standard six-sided dice and involves a bit of running and a lot of quick thinking. It’s easy to learn how to play 7 11 dice, with two dice, a cup, and a table and chairs.

A player will roll two dice. If they roll a 7 or 11, they become the shooter. Then, another player who is the runner will pick up the cup and start chugging. The shooter will continue rolling as fast as possible, trying to get another 7 or 11 before the runner finishes the drink. If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 in time, the runner has to refill and go again. And if the runner finishes before the shooter hits a 7 or 11, the roles switch.

Yahtzee

Yahtzee is a classic and strategic dice game that combines luck with calculated risk-taking. To play the game, you’ll need five dice, a Yahtzee score sheet, and a pen. Players will take turns rolling all five dice, with up to three rolls per turn.

After each roll, they will keep the number of dice and re-roll the rest. The goal is to complete different scoring combinations like three-of-a-kind, full house, small straight, or five of a kind, which is a Yahtzee. The player with the highest total score after all 13 categories are filled wins.

Farkle

Farkle is a push-your-luck dice game where players must decide where to keep rolling and when to play it safe. You will need six dice, a score sheet, and a pen or pencil. Players will roll all six dice and try to collect scoring combinations like ones, fives, three-of-a-kind or more.

After each roll, players can set aside scoring dice and re-roll the rest, but if no scoring dice are rolled, that turn scores zero, and this is a Farkle. The first player to reach a set point total will win. In Farkle, the decision of whether to roll again or bank your points adds suspense and strategy to every turn.

Bunco

Bunco is a social dice game often played in large groups, ideal for parties or team gatherings. You will need three dice, Bunco scorecards, and groups of four players. The game is played in rounds, where players try to roll a number that matches the current round, like rolling threes in round three.

Each matching number is worth a point, and rolling three of a kind matching the round number is a Bunco. After each round, players may switch tables depending on whether they win or lose.

Final Thoughts

Dice games are easy to pick up, portable, and endlessly entertaining. Whether you’re looking for a social icebreaker or a high-speed party game, there’s something on this list for everyone.
