How Do House Cleaners Clean So Fast?

If you’ve ever watched a professional cleaner whizz around a home, you might be wondering how they do it so fast. Well, other than practice and experience, there are some industry secrets that can lead to a speedy clean.

Let’s look at some of these tips to answer the question, how do house cleaners clean so fast?

One of their strategies is to know the right techniques for different surfaces. For instance, understanding how to clean concrete floors efficiently can save a lot of time and effort, ensuring a spotless finish with minimal hassle.

1. Streamlining Products

Professional cleaners will typically have a surprisingly small range of products to hand. For example, they might have a glass cleaner, furniture polish, and all-purpose cleaning spray.

And there’s not really more that you need to clean a home. Look at the things you need to clean: furniture, glass and windows, and tiles and countertops. Streamline your cleaning products to the most basic items, and don’t worry about buying specialty things outside of this.

2. Have an Action Plan

Cleaners can work so fast because they’ll often have a mental plan of how to tackle the job at hand. Combined with practice, this gives speedy results. So how do you achieve this?

Well, you should have the practice element in hand (assuming it’s your home you’re cleaning!). On top of that, you should write up an action plan covering rooms to clean and the jobs they involve.

This can help you simplify things by combining jobs, such as dusting all upper-floor rooms together. Doing so cuts down on the time you spend swapping between products. After a few tries, you should be able to adjust your plan even more.

3. Forget Decluttering

This might seem backward, but a cleaner doesn’t typically declutter or organize. Their job is to clean. So, when it’s your time to clean your home, apply this logic.

There are a couple of ways to do this. First, where possible, organize things as you use them. For example, keep shoes tidy and out of the way, or pile up letters and bills and store them somewhere.

Second, throw everything in a pile and address it later! While you might not catch a professional cleaner filling your cupboard with piles of random stuff, it’s fine to do as long as you go back and deal with it later.

4. Clean as You Go

Again, this might seem like an obvious suggestion, but small, regular cleaning jobs can help when it comes time to properly clean a room. Some examples include:

·          Squeegee the shower glass after you’ve showered

·          Wipe down kitchen counters after you’ve cooked

·          Tidy up cushions, blankets, and general clutter in living rooms before you go to bed

·          Make your bed in the morning

·          Put dirty laundry in the caddy

Doing these fairly small tasks as you go along can make a full cleaning job, such as the bathroom, much easier. If the shower glass is relatively clean, you won’t have to spend as long scrubbing soap scum off it.

5. Make Use of the Dishwasher

This is a great example of working hard, not smart. If you have a dishwasher, use it for unconventional cleaning jobs, such as toothbrush holders, cooker covers, dish drains, and so on.

Almost anything made of hard plastic or metal can be chucked in the dishwasher for an easier cleaning job.

6. Tap into Your Inner Motivation

Sometimes, it can be challenging to motivate yourself to clean. Professionals typically won’t face this issue because they get paid to do so, making it no different than any other job. Of course, this doesn’t apply when it comes to cleaning your own house.

So, address it from a different angle. Chuck on some loud and upbeat music and have a dance while cleaning. Similarly, arrange a treat for yourself to celebrate a deep clean of your home. There are so many different ways to motivate yourself, so tap into what works for you.

Final Thoughts

The bottom line is that professional cleaners work so fast because, like any other professional, they have a lot of experience doing what they do. However, you can use some of their industry secrets to tackle your household cleaning better.

The most important lesson is to work smart, not hard. Pros know their way around a cleaning job, so embody this logic next time you get started.
