Microwaves are an essential part of any modern kitchen. They allow you to quickly and easily heat up food, but they can also get messy and dirty over time. If your microwave is looking a little grimy, don’t worry – there are plenty of simple ways to clean it and restore it to its former glory! Read on for some tips on how to clean a microwave.

Ways

  1. Start with the basics. Begin by wiping down the outside of the microwave with a damp cloth. If there are any stubborn spots, you can use a mild soap or all-purpose cleaner. Be sure to avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads, as these can damage the finish.
  2. Give it a good scrub. Once the outside is clean, it’s time to focus on the interior. Remove the turntable (if applicable) and any other removable parts, and wash them in soapy water. Then, use a sponge or cleaning cloth to wipe down the inside of the microwave, being sure to reach all the nooks and crannies.
  3. Use a DIY cleaning solution. If your microwave is particularly dirty, you can make a simple cleaning solution using water and white vinegar or lemon juice. Just mix equal parts of each ingredient in a spray bottle, then spritz the inside of your microwave with the solution and let it sit for a few minutes. Wipe the solution away with a damp cloth, then rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  4. Deodorize it. Sometimes microwaves can develop unpleasant odors that are difficult to get rid of. If this is the case, try sprinkling some baking soda on a clean sponge or cloth and wiping down the inside of the microwave. This will help absorb any lingering smells and leave your microwave smelling fresh and clean.
  5. Check for hidden stains or residue. If you notice that water, food, or grease are building up in certain spots inside your microwave, it may be time to use a more powerful cleaning method. Try using a soft plastic scrubbing brush or a toothbrush to gently scrub away any visible grime.
  6. Don’t forget about the filter. If you have a built-in vent exhaust fan in your microwave, it’s important to keep the filter clean as well. Just use a soft cloth and warm, soapy water to wipe down the exterior of thevent, then remove the filter and wash it in the sink.
  7. Give it a final wipe-down. Once you’ve cleaned all the main parts of your microwave, give it a final once-over with a damp cloth to remove any leftover residue or cleaning solutions. Then, dry it completely with a clean towel and reassemble any removable parts. Your microwave should now be sparkling clean and ready to use again!

Can You Put Paper Towels in The Microwave?

There is no definitive answer to this question. Paper towels are often used to clean and absorb liquids from surfaces, but they can also be dangerous when placed in the microwave. Depending on the type of paper towel and how it is prepared, it may or may not be safe to use in a microwave. For example, some brands of paper towels are treated with chemicals and dyes that can spark or explode in the microwave if heated at a high temperature. Therefore, it is advisable to check the packaging of your paper towels before using them in the microwave. If you are unsure about the safety of a particular brand of paper towel, it’s best to avoid using them in the microwave altogether.
